Review "Schindler's List"

A wound that never lasts.

In terms of the dry historical material in the form of facts and figures the theme of the film was not a revelation to me, I knew all this stuff already and even managed to skip through a lot of years ago, when the Institute wrote the diploma on a theme of German fascism, and when they managed to turn over the mountain of literature about Nazism. Then was a real shock and a lot of tears. Watched the movie just now, and it was a collision with something living, it is not a book, and I had a huge mental strain, almost physical pain that I seem to be felt, together with those on the screen were beaten, shot, burned... the Revelation was exactly how managed Steven Spielberg to shiver realistic and authentically Express the atmosphere of that terrible era, when the world is literally awash in blood, and the most sacred values and morals that govern human existence are brought to shame.

What is this movie? About terrible, boundless, the greatest tragedy not only the Jewish people, but also all mankind. About the guilt of the German people is unlikely to ever be able to redeem. About how one of the most highly spiritual civilizations "thinkers and poets", who gave birth to Schiller, Goethe, Kant, was able to suddenly plunge into the abyss of obscurantism, chaos and utter madness, such madness, what has not yet seen the world. About how a single nation by some fantastic coincidence, a mockery of fate, was able to elevate itself so high above all, that in a few years of war to turn 6 million lives with their dreams, love, feelings, hopes into mountains of corpses and ashes. The film is about the wound that never heals, a pain that will never subside.…

What struck

The girl in maroon. The most heartbreaking and at the same time some painfully beautiful mise EN scene of the film. Small maroon stain on the background of white and black, a little child's soul, had only begun to learn this world, who met her in horror of the carnage, the hustle and bustle of the Madding crowd, violence and fanaticism. She goes and goes forward. Where? Far eyes are staring at. And what's ahead of her, death or, perhaps, salvation. The salvation until the end of days promise to be nightmares with ghosts and phantoms of this terrible era in which it was destined to be the will of Providence. Salvation with a bitter taste of constant looking back at the past and infinite gratitude to God and fate for the happiness given-to live on…

This episode is truly brilliant. It's everything. All the pain, all the tragedy, all the abnormality of one of the most antihuman regimes in human history and the most insane and bloody Scam called the Holocaust that ever took place to be under the sun.

Ralph Fiennes. One of my favorite actors. All his images, so unique in their polarity, so emotionally rich and bright, never caused me anything but admiration. But Amon Gett in his performance was just a shock for me. The whole movie he kept me in suspense and I didn't know what to expect from the next surge of his mood. Exaltation, nervousness, bordering on schizophrenia, ruthlessness and some crazy dazzling power and, as a consequence, permissiveness. In everything. As over rats in a cage he conducts bloody experiments on human beings, imprisoned in the walls of the barracks of the concentration camp, for any innocent stupidity he shoots dozens of taking life, even in children, for him nothing is sacred, only a power trip and thoughtless, blind the service of the Fuhrer and the hateful ideology of the Third Reich…

Ralph Fiens managed to play very convincingly the ideal Nazi, "true Aryan", one of those many, whose forgiveness will never be.

Liam Neeson. Praise his talent and once again pick up colorful epithets is meaningless, because his talent is unconditional, and when you see how he plays, the words already become unnecessary. Liam Neeson is the highlight of any film. His charisma and strong play, he decorated and this film, because after watching it there is only one feeling: Oscar Schindler and could not be different, he could only be the way it was played by this wonderful actor.

The film made me think a lot and come to a lot in my thoughts. Despite the constant criticism of our time with all its flaws and vices, I came to the idea that we all live by and large in a very good, well-fed, calm and successful era and have the fact that in other times for someone was just something from the field of fantasy. In an era when there is an opportunity to choose, love, rejoice, breathe, hope for a bright future, believe in a dream. We just need to remember this movie more often. After all, if every one of those Nazi-murdered people could count on at least a slice of our lives…

Thanks to Steven Spielberg for this hard but true movie.
