Review

«Hello. My name is Forrest. Forrest Gump. Want some candy? I can eat a million of them. My mother always said that life is a box of sweets — you never know what you will pull." So begins this unusual and amazing story needs no introduction, the story now knows probably everyone. "Forrest Gump" - one of the most famous and acclaimed films in the history of cinema, shot by the strange and ambiguous novel Winston Group, and the" hurrah "accepted by critics and the overwhelming majority of viewers, became a hit in 1994, collecting a fantastic cashier almost 700 million and received 13 nominations and 6"Oscars".

Only Zemekis could, as in "Back to the future", show the most difficult and very serious things in such an easy and relaxed way: the search for God and himself by man, problems of family and upbringing, crippled child's psyche, fatherhood, problems of desegregation and racial discrimination. In addition, he showed the real story of America for 50 years: the war in Vietnam and post-Vietnam campaign, the "Golden" era of rock-n-roll and Elvis, the development of human space exploration, the Kennedy assassination, the election campaign of the Governor-racist Wallace, and a host of other exciting events.

But, first of all, this is the story of an amazing and unusual person. real man. Forrest Gump is just the living embodiment of the simple and beautiful human qualities in one person. Kind, sincere, open, simple, simple and unselfish. Amazing and solid personality. "Have you ever wondered what you would become when you grew up?""How do I not be myself?"Yes, he is not smart in the conventional sense of the word, but it is not a flaw and a sign of its inferiority or limitation.

He simply loves his mother-a wise single woman who gave her son everything that a loving and caring mother can give, from sincere love and proper education to a good education. He's just protecting his girlfriend from a terrible and tragic fate. He's just helping people. Just a loyal and caring friend. He just always does what he likes. "I didn't think it would take me anywhere." Forrest — a student and the best player of the football team, a war hero, a famous athlete, billionaire... Forrest loving son, faithful friend, good friend, husband, father…

In the film, a lot of simply great, memorable and at the same time very subtle, humorous moments with a deep subtext, through which the core are real historical events and significant dates, shown through the eyes of Forrest: he taught Elvis to dance and made him famous, he was three times at the reception of the President, while the first time said that he had to cast, and the second time showed the President ass, he founded "Apple Computers, Inc" and came up with the famous t-shirt with a smiley face and the popular slogan "Shit happens".

And, among other things, he had briefly been a member of the "Black Panthers" — the rotten scum who talked about high matters and about peace in the world, that they are against the war, racism, violence and oppression of blacks, and together with the elementary failed to protect the woman started hitting the man, he for the first time in 50 years set foot on the land of China, bringing "world peace" in the form of a tennis racket, he founded a shrimp Corporation built a Church and a medical center named after Forrest Gump and sat during the interview with John Lennon! One person who has forever changed the fates of famous and legendary personalities in an amazing and fantastic way.

These times are just indescribable delight. And the scene of his state of mind before run shot just brilliant: complete lack of sound and music, in the frame there is only the situation and the person. Neatly tucked bed, left by the side of a tennis racket and medal of honor. And a lonely sitting Forrest, shot from all angles, left alone with his feelings, emotions and experiences. And, of course, the" run " itself, which lasted more than one year. Filmed all just gorgeous, and what is a crowd of people running after him like Jesus!

In the scenes in the school and army bus perfectly and dramatically shows a lonely soul, a person who is not like others who just wants to find a soul mate and friends. Real friends, whose fate he, too, forever will change.

Such as babba, who is essentially the same as Forrest himself. People not of this world. "And his Mama cooked shrimp. Mother and his mother prepared the shrimp. And his mother's mother's mother made shrimp too." A simple, simple, low-minded and kind guy from Alabama, dreaming to open a business with Forrest for catching and selling shrimps, and, instead, died on the banks of the river in Vietnam. Forrest kept his word and did what I dreamed of Bubba, having been engaged in catching prawns and making the state: "Mom said we need to have as many as you need, and everything else is for show. So I was free to mow the lawn, and his share was given to a family Babb. And you know what? His mother doesn't have to cook shrimp anymore."

Like Lieutenant Dan is a very deep and tragic character, "five plus" played by Gary Sinise. "Every member of his family had fought and died in the war that involved America. Probably, he had to maintain tradition." The person who believes in fate, forced to pass the dreadful test of life on the strength of spirit and faith. Faith in God and faith in yourself. Lieutenant Dan, a legless cripple, a descended homeless man, who lost all faith and taste in life, lost hope, angry at the whole world, at himself and at God. "Have you found God, Gump?""I didn't know what it is necessary to search". Forrest is not necessary to find him — God is always with him.

The scenes on the yacht are stunningly filmed: first, a terrible storm, a downpour and a man in the middle of the boundless ocean, who has nothing to lose and nothing to fear, who challenges and opposes God, and then — peace and quiet, floating Lieutenant Dan, a calm ocean and a boundless sky with fluffy clouds going beyond the horizon, from under which the rays of the sun break. In the scene where he comes to the Forrest for a wedding, we see a completely different person — thanks to Forrest, he came back to life, reinterpreted values (pay attention to his wife — she is clearly of Asian origin, and because he hated them and fought against them), have faith in yourself and have peace with God and himself.

And, of course, such as Jenny — the most dramatic and tragic character, well played Robin Wright. The roots of her problems and broken, twisted and terrible life lie deep in childhood, when the alcoholic father raped her with his sister. Later, with broken psyche and terrible childhood memories, unable to get rid of childhood nightmares, she begins to destroy herself, running away from herself, going through all the circles of hell and "opening new horizons", becoming descended to the bottom drug addict and prostitute. The scene in which she tries to jump off the balcony is incredible in its drama and intensity, and the music at this point is beyond praise. No matter what, Forrest continued to love and wait for her. She believes that he doesn't know what love is, but the matter is that he knows how to love truly. Next to him, she is most afraid to feel happy. The past leaves her just before he died. Rethinking, forgiveness, love and happiness of motherhood come, but, alas — too late.

The grotesque plot, in my opinion, not only spoils the picture, but makes it better because deliberately emphasized the fantastic nature of the events makes the film more complex, multi-faceted, solid and very deep. Brilliant and virtuoso directing. Excellent, brilliantly spelled out scenario, many things from which you can not just quote, but used as a living allowance, and what is only the final thought, the key passing through the whole picture: "is Lieutenant Dan Right, believing that each of us has its own way, its own destiny or right mom, saying that all of us is in life, like a feather in the wind? I think that both are right — both things happen to us at the same time."

Great acting. Tom Hanks is simply out of reach — the deepest, the most dramatic, the most difficult and the best of his role. Ironed light suit, plaid blue shirt, perfectly clean, although worn and beaten sneakers, a small suitcase and a box of chocolates, tied with a gift ribbon. He is charming, with an open and kind face, always neat and very neat, short haircut poluboks, a little sad and deep glance, and incredibly memorable facial expressions. Perfect hit in the image. Ten plus!

All the others also played on the "Yat" even allocate someone it is difficult — all good: Sally field, Robin Wright, Mykelti Williamson and, of course, Gary Sinise. You can still celebrate Michael Conner Humphrey (Forrest's childhood) and a very young Haley Joel Osment. In addition, much attention is paid not only to the fine study of the characters, but also all sorts of details.

The disadvantages are not a very good trick flying away from the explosion a soldier and points about the visual concept of the film — in some moments the film looks like a blatant caricature or parody (this is particularly evident in the scene art drops "precursors" Lieutenant Dan), although, maybe Zemeckis wanted thereby only to underscore the grotesqueness of the plot. But, if in some scenes you can see the small caricature and the grotesque, then the rest is an incredibly beautiful film.
